Summary
A banked linear feature at Longham Bridge is visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The position of the feature is marked by a dispersed row of trees on the OS 1st Edition map, indicating a removed historic field boundary. The rectilinear form of the feature suggests a probable post medieval date. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
A banked linear feature at Longham Bridge is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1 and 2).
The feature is situated within an irregular historic enclosure recorded on te OS 1st Edition map, contained by the River Stour to the north and a stream or artificial drainage channel to the south. The western boundary of the enclosure is rectilinear in character and the feature is situated 60m to the east of this and parallel with it.
The position of the feature is marked by a dispersed row of trees on the OS 1st Edition map, indicating a removed historic field boundary. The rectilinear form of the feature suggests a probable post medieval date.
The site is under rough ground and low scrub on Google Earth imagery but the feature is still faintly visible. It was digitally plotted from 1940s aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
