Full Description
Ditched linear features to the northeast of Kinson Manor Farm are visible on aerial photographs (1-3).
The features are slightly irregular or curvilinear in form. They sub-divide sections of irregular historic enclosures on the southwest bank of the River Stour to the northeast of Kinson Manor Farm, on the same alignment as adjacent historic boundaries of possible post medieval date, although an earlier origin for these is also possible (3). The northwesternmost linear feature is broad and sinuous and appears to underlie a narrow and rectilinear ditched feature (MDO41366), considered likely to be a post medieval or possibly early modern, field boundary.
The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of possible post medieval date, although an earlier origin for these is also possible.
The site is still fields on Google Earth imagery and the features are still visible. They were digitally plotted from aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
