Full Description

An irregular scarped feature to the north of Northbourne is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature comprises a shallow irregular 48m by 27m depression in a field to the north of Northbourne. It is presumed to be a post medieval extractive pit. The site is housing on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted from aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
