A possible post medieval extractive pit at West Parley is visible as a shallow irregular depression on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The feature measures up to 14.5m long by up to 13m wide. It is situated on open ground to the west of One Pine Drive, probably formerly part of Parley Common.
The site is under housing on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is not visible. It was digitally plotted from 1940s aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
