A possible post medieval extractive pit at West Parley is visible as a shallow irregular depression on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature measures up to 84m long by up to 42m wide. It is situated on open ground on Parley Common, around 80m east of Mag's Barrow (MDO6230). The site is under housing on current Google earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
