Full Description

Dtched linear features at West Parley are visible on aerial photographs (1 and 2). The features are narrow and curvilinear in form. They correspond and align with adjacent historic field boundaries to the south and west which are recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and whose character and pattern of enclosure suggest a possible medieval origin (3). The features are presumed to also be historic field boundaries of possible medieval origin, although a later date is also possible. The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the features are still faintly visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
