Summary
A small area of ditched and ridged cultivation marks to the east of Henbury Farm, Sturminster Marshall, is visible on aerial photographs. The features may be historic cultivation marks, possibly of medieval origin. Alternatively they could be ridges associated with a post medieval orchard. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
A small area of ditched and ridged cultivation marks to the east of Henbury Farm, Sturminster Marshall, is visible on aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise parallel ridges set approximately 9.5m apart, with a 2m ditch in between. The features are situated within a small rectilinear enclosure on the east side of Henbury Farm and may be historic cultivation marks, possibly of medieval origin. Alternatively they could be ridges associated with a post medieval orchard.
The site is still open ground on Google Earth imagery but the features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted from 1940s aerial photographs by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
