Full Description

A Second World War bomb crater to the east of Lower Barford is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature comprises a sub-circular hollow 13m in diameter, with a starburst of cast up earth bank surrounding this; the extent of the blast is approximately 34 m across. The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery; the feature is still visible as a tree-filled hollow. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
