Summary

A cluster of six small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 on heathland under what is now Forest View Drive. The hollows range in size from 9m to 28m across and are considered to be the potential sites of historic extractive pits. The features were levelled in the 1960's by modern housing development. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A cluster of six small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 on heathland under what is now Forest View Drive (1). The hollows range in size from 9m to 28m across and are considered to be the potential sites of historic extractive pits. The features were levelled in the 1960's by modern housing development (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
