Summary

A ditched linear feature to the southwest of Lake Farm, Corfe Mullen, is visible on aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery. The feature is considered likely to be a historic field boundary or trackway of probable post medieval date. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A ditched linear feature to the southwest of Lake Farm, Corfe Mullen, is visible on aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1-2). The feature is narrow and rectilinear in form. It crosses an irregular historic enclosure recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, whose sinuous boundaries are likely to be medieval in origin (3). The feature is considered likely to be a historic field boundary or trackway of probable post medieval date. The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is still visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
