Full Description

A small post medieval extractive pit at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature is 36m long by 30m wide and is situated on the east side of a trackway on what was still open rough ground 1946 (1). The site is under housing on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
