Summary
A post medieval extractive pit at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The feature is situated around 50m southwest of Naked Cross Pit, recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (but under housing by the 1940s) and may be an area of extraction associated with this. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1-2).
The feature comprises several irregular scarps covering an area 115m long by 38m wide. It is situated around 50m southwest of Naked Cross Pit, recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (but under housing by the 1940s) and may be an area of extraction associated with this (3).
The site is under an area of trees within a modern housing estate on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
