Full Description

A World War II bomb crater on open ground at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The feature comprises a sub-circular ditched depression 8.8m in diameter. Surrounding this is a starburst of upcast earth, characteristic of blast activity. The site is under a modern housing estate on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
