Full Description
A World War II bomb crater on open ground at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1-2).
The feature comprises a sub-circular ditched depression 8.4m in diameter. Surrounding this on its E, W and N sides is a starburst of upcast earth, characteristic of blast activity; there is a also a small spit of upcast earth on the S side, with gaps either side (1-2).
The site is under trees on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
