Full Description
An area of post medieval extraction on open ground at Corfe Mullen is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise areas of shallow surface extraction exteding over an area around 66m by 36m. On its east side the area of extraction may encroach onto earthworks associated with the Roman Road from Badbury Rings to Pool (MDO5461).
The site is under housing on current Google Earth imagery and the features are no longer visible, presumed levelled. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
