Summary
Banked linear features to the south of Kingston Lacy Park are visible on current Lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries although their date is uncertain. They do not demonstrate any clear relationship with the pattern of historic enclosure at this location, suggesting a pre-medieval, possibly late prehistoric, origin. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
Banked linear features to the south of Kingston Lacy Park are visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The features comprise a number of short sections of broad, slightly curvilinear banks aligned broadly NE-SW, forming a series of roughly parallel boundaries. They are considered likely to be field boundaries although their date is uncertain. They do not demonstrate any clear relationship with the pattern of historic enclosure at this location (2), suggesting a pre-medieval, possibly late prehistoric, origin.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
