An extensive system of banked field boundaries or lynchets is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery. The system covers an area of over 300 hectares within Pamphill. The lynchets underlie the modern field pattern and are (particularly to the south) on a different alignment suggesting a much earlier date. The features which may be medieval or prehistoric in origin were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
