A ditched linear feature to the south of Hillbutts is visible on aerial photographs. The feature may be a historic field boundary, also possibly of medieval origin, although it may be later in date. Alternatively it may be a post medieval drainage ditch. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

A ditched linear feature to the south of Hillbutts is visible on aerial photographs (1). The feature is narrow and slightly curvilinear in form. It extends E-W from a historic field boundary of possible medieval origin to the west and a historic footpath recorded on the OS 1st Edition map to the east (2). It aligns on a slightly sinuous historic field boundary to the south, also possibly medieval in origin. The feature may be a historic field boundary, also possibly of medieval origin, although it may be later in date. Alternatively it may be a post medieval drainage ditch. The site is still open fields on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is still visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
