Monument record MDO41984 - Prehistoric occupation, Nottington Lane, Weymouth

Please read our .

Summary

Features suggesting prehistoric settlement or industrial activity were recorded during archaeological evaluation by Archaeology South-East in 2015 of a site proposed for development. These comprised a slightly-curving ditch which appeared possibly to be associated with a coaxial field system. No dating evidence was recovered, but the filling of the ditch contained a significant quantity of burnt material which analysis showed to be largely wood charcoal.
