Summary
The site of a 'Tumulus' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map to the east of Wynford Wood, Wynford Eagle. A low mound, 15m across, is visible at this location on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

Full Description
The site of a 'Tumulus' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map to the east of Wynford Wood, Wynford Eagle. <1>
A bowl barrow; diameter 16 paces, height 2ft. <2>
Possibly the remains of a barrow, now almost ploughed out. <3>
Only faint unsurveyable traces of this bowl barrow are visible on the ground, which is arable, but at present grass covered. <4>
A low mound, 15m across, is visible at this location on lidar imagery <5> and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.
