A chalk pit with associated lime kiln is marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map on the southwest side of Old Wood, Rampisham. A large chalk pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

Full Description

An 'Old Chalk Pit' is shown on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map on the western edge of Wraxall Wood [1]. A large chalk pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project [2].
