Several 'Old Chalk Pit's are marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map to the west of Burl Farm, Evershot [1]. They are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 [1] and were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project. They are part of a wider group of small pits scattered across several fields, many of which have since been ploughg-levelled [3]
