Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
In 2001 topsoil stripping exposed archaeological features. A small-scale rescue excavation by Peter Woodward and Paul Martin revealed these to be the remains of a probable timber ring of later Neolithic date which he described as having a diameter twice the size of the north ring at Durrington Walls. Another structure associated with a hearth of Bronze Age date was also recorded.
