Monument record MDO42471 - Round barrow north west of Downley Coppice, Sheephouse Drove, Witchampton
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A circular cropmark around 28 metres in diameter visible on aerial photographs dated 2017 and 2018. This feature is interpreted as the remains of a round barrow; no evidence of any surviving mound can be seen on the photographs, suggesting that it has been much reduced by ploughing. Indistinct marks in the centre of the ring-ditch may indicate the survival of internal features.
