Full Description
The pillbox formerly sat in open ground (since developed) just west of a linear defensive earthwork bank, and appears to be part of a NE-SW aligned stop-line of several similar installations defending the approach to the Chain Home radar station at Hengistbury Head from the west. It has since been removed and the area developed for housing.
