Summary
The Pilbox Study Group note that a Second World War Type FW3/22 pillbox is visible east of the southern end of York Road on RAF vertical photograhs dated 1947. The pillbox was originally sited immediately north of a (now disused) railway line, part of which survives in overgrown condition just to the south east, but its site is nowadays close to the junction with Broadstone Way.
