Please read our .

Summary

The Pilbox Study Group note the presence of a Second World War roadblock on Iford Lane at its crossing under the Weymouth to London Waterloo railway line. The block is listed on a map of the defences associated with the Christchurch Anti-Tank Island reproduced by M A Edgington, and was presumably intended to control a north-south access point across the railway line, which is embanked at this point.
