Monument record MDO42710 - Possible Second World War anti-tank blocks south of the River Hooke, north of Tollerford Barn, Frome Vauchurch
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
The Pilbox Study Group note what appears to be a short length of at least four possible concrete anti-tank blocks on the south bank of the River Hooke, east of its bridging by Greenford Lane and north east of the intersection with Back Lane, visible on RAF vertical aerial photographs dated April 1947. These presumably served to deter potential fording of the river beside the bridge.

Full Description
The status of the blocks is uncertain. The land plot is now very overgrown. It is presumed that the blocks have been removed, but further investigation may refute this.
