A series of post medieval chalk pits are visible on Notton Down on current Lidar imagery (1). The pits are visible singly and as more concentrated groups, some of these being recorded on the OS 1st Edition 1:2500 map (2). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
