Summary
Banked and ditched linear features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery in fields to the southwest of Maiden Newton, Maiden Newton. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries associated with a strip field system of probable medieval date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description
Banked and ditched linear features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery in fields to the southwest of Maiden Newton, Maiden Newton (1, 2). The features are considered likely to be field boundaries associated with a strip field system of probable medieval date. They may be part of a more extensive field system that continues on the south side of the road (MDO42317). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
