A Second World War Type 22 pillbox is visible as an octagonal structure on 1940s aerial photographs at Frampton. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description
Type 22 pillbox, of standard brick and concrete construction. However, the brick work is suffering very badly from frost erosion (spalding). It has a porch type entrance with a pistol hole, and 5 main embrasures. All have been constructed in concrete. Outside, the top elevation of brickwork is missing exposing the concrete roof. Internal blast wall.
Dimensions, front external elevation 8ft exposed above ground level. Walls 19ins thick, 7ft 9ins external length. Entrance roof 13ins sloping to 11.5ins at edge. External entrance 27ins x 79ins, internal entrance 28ins x 56ins. Roof 13ins thick laid in 5ins bands. Internal blast wall 39ins x 46ins x 9.5ins in T-shape. Internal height 78ins. Internal walls 5ft 9ins wide, embrasures 15ins x 8ins external, widening to 28ins x 14ins internally. Pistol port 11ins x 7ins externally, widening to 12ins x 14ins internally.On an escarpment 100 yards NE of Frampton village. <1-3>
