Summary

An area of probable medieval ridge and furrow cultivation is visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs to the south of Langford Farm, Stratton. The remains of possible strip field boundaries are recorded at this location on the OS 1st Edition map. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description

An area of probable medieval ridge and furrow cultivation is visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs to the south of Langford Farm, Stratton (1). The remains of possible strip field boundaries are recorded at this location on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project. The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
