Summary

Banked linear features are visible as earthworks on current Lidar imagery to the southwest of Langford Farm, Stratton. The features are probably field boundaries of possible medieval to post medieval date, although a late prehistoric ( Iron Age/Romano-British) origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description

Banked linear features are visible as earthworks on current Lidar imagery to the southwest of Langford Farm, Stratton (1). The features form a series of linear enclosures within an irregular field of probable medieval origin recorded on the OS 1st Edition map. The features are probably field boundaries of possible medieval to post medieval date, although a late prehistoric ( Iron Age/Romano-British) origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
