An irregular sub-circular pit is visible as an earthwork and cropmark on aerial photographs on the south side of Grimstone Down, Stratton (1). The feature is recorded as a chalk pit on the OS 1st Edition map (2). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project. The feature is still visible as a cropmark on current Google Earth imagery (3).
