Multiple sub-circular pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs, distributed across the area of South Field Hill, Sydling St Nicholas (1, 2). The features may be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project. Many of the features are still visible as cropmarks on current Google Earth imagery.
