A possible sub-circular ring ditch/mound is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs on Shearplace Hill, Sydling St Nicholas. The feature may be a Bronze Age barrow, although it may be of natural origin, a fairy ring perhaps. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description
A possible sub-circular ring ditch/mound is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs on Shearplace Hill, Sydling St Nicholas (1, 2). The feature is approximately 11m in diameter and potentially comprises a 1m wide outer ditch encompassing a 9m in diameter internal mound. The feature may be a Bronze Age barrow, although it may alternatively be of natural geological origin. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
