Please read our .

Summary

Linear banked and ditched features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs to the northeast of Poor Lot, Batcombe. The features are within an area of post medieval quarrying (MDO43001; 43002; 43003) and may also be extractive in origin, although their character and proximity to nearby areas of Iron Age field systems may indicate an older origin for some of these features, which may alternatively be field boundaries and/or trackways of prehistoric date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
