A banked linear feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs within fields to the south of Batcombe. The feature may be a historic field boundary of possible medieval origin, although a later date is also possible. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

A banked linear feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs within fields to the south of Batcombe (1). The feature may be a historic field boundary of possible medieval origin, although a later date is also possible. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is still faintly visible on current Google Earth imagery.
