Summary
Banked curvilinear features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs in fields to the southeast of Lawless Coppice, Hillfield. The features comprise sections of broad parallel curvilinear banks on an E-W axis. They may be field boundaries of possible prehistoric - Iron Age/Romano-British - date. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description
Banked curvilinear features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs in fields to the southeast of Lawless Coppice, Hillfield (1, 2). The features comprise sections of broad parallel curvilinear banks on an E-W axis. A n additional cross linear is visible on a 1948 aerial photograph at the west end of the westernmost linear (2). The features may be field boundaries of possible prehistoric date, although a medieval origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The features are still faintly visible on current Google Earth imagery.
