Full Description

An old chalk pit is recorded on Ellston Hill on the OS 1st Edition map (1). The feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project (2, 3). The feature is still visible as a hollowed earthwork on current Google Earth imagery.
