Monument record MDO4326 - Bowl barrow on Breeze Hill, Melbury Abbas

Summary
A Bronze Age ditched bowl barrow, part of a dispersed group of barrows on Breeze Hill. In 1972 this monument was recorded as being around 39 feet in diameter with a mound about one foot high. Traces of a ditch were noted.
The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Full Description
'A' A bowl barrow at ST 89211982. Diameter 39 feet and height 1 foot. Traces of a ditch. <2>
Two ploughed down bowl barrows situated on a north-south spur. 'A' at ST 89211982 is currently under pasture, it has a diameter of 10.0m and a height of 0.2m. There is now no visible ditch. Revised at 1:2500 on AM. <3>
