Full Description

Centred ST 882078. Field system taken from air photos in 1949 by R J C Atkinson. <1> Centred at ST 882078. A small area under grass, with scattered and poorly defined NW-SE lynchets. The system must once have extended over a much greater area, and was probably of Iron Age/Romano British origin. The lynchet at ST 88540800 averages 3.0m. wide and 1.3m. high. It is now utilized as a field bank and hedge, but may have formed part of the field system. <2>
