Full Description
(Area centred at ST 853022) Scattered irregular field banks and lynchets of Iron Age/Romano British type. Those at Whatcombe Down are being brought under the plough; those in the field to the east are partly under crops and partly under stubble. All are very much spread, and average 0.3m. high. <1>
Vague indications of 'Celtic' fields on APs. <2>
A rapid examination of air photography (3a) suggests the field system extends to the southeast of Whatcombe Down Dairy. <3>
