Summary

The remains of a bowl barrow 70m south east of West End Barn. The mound has been reduced in height by ploughing but is still visible as an earthwork, c30m in diameter and 0.5m high.

Full Description

A bowl barrow. 30 paces diameter, 5 ft high. <2> A grass covered bowl barrow 30.0 metres in diameter and 1.5 metres high. A brick lined water point has been sunk in the centre of the barrow. <3> Bowl barrow (78899636), 60 yds SE of West End Barn, at about 250 ft above OD, at the ead of a shallow combe running E. The mound has been damaged by former ploughing and by the insertion of a brick inspection hole for a pipeline. Diam 95 ft ht 2 ft. <4> SY 78889635. No change. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>
