ST 875194 Well preserved contour strip lynchets on the south and east of Melbury Hill; part of the former open field called "Forked Bridge Field". <1-2>
Well defined Medieval type strip lynchets running for some 400.0m around the south and east lower sides of Melbury Hill. They have an average width of 12.0m and are up to 4.0m high. Other lynchets further west have been reduced to slight ground undulations by ploughing. Visible on OS air photographs <3.1>. <3>
