Full Description

'A' - SY 81059676; One of three grass covered and ditchless bowl barrows varying from 18 metres to 32 metres in diameter and from 0.5 metres to 0.6 metres high. <1> One of three round barrows on Milborne Down, all of which have been heavily ploughed. 'A' - (Barrow 25) - SY 81049676. A Bowl barrow, about 90 feet in diameter and 1 1/2 ft high. (The barrow is not listed by Grinsell). <3> 'A'. SY 81049676. Bowl barrow, diameter 25.0 metres, approximately, height 0.8 metres, in arable and ploughed down. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4> One of three bowl barrows situated on a north facing slope of Milborne Down, to the northeast of Weatherby Castle hillfort obelisk. The barrow is part of a dispersed group of barrows on this ridge, aligned broadly northwest to southeast. It is visible as an earthwork. <5>
