Monument record MDO43800 - Bronze Age round barrow, southwest of Dairy Farm, Tarrant Launceston

Summary
A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs. The site is defined by a single ring ditch which completely encloses a circular area measuring circa 19m in diameter. Total diameter circa 22m. The size and shape of the enclosure suggest that it is the plough levelled remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. There is no sign of any barrow mound or other internal feature such as a funerary deposit.

Full Description
A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs. The site is centred at ST 9380 0949 and is defined by a single ring ditch which completely encloses a circular area measuring circa 19m in diameter.
The size and shape of the enclosure suggest that it is the plough levelled remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, several of which are known in this area. There is no sign of any barrow mound or other internal feature such as a funerary deposit. <1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3>
A probable Bronze Age barrow is visible c 300m to the southwest of Dairy Farm, Tarrant Launceston, as a circular annular cropmark c22m in diameter on an aerial photograph dated 1999 <1.2>. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M project.
