Monument record MDO43801 - Bronze Age round barrow, southwest of Dairy Farm, Tarrant Launceston
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs. The site is defined by a single ring ditch with a break to the south-east which almost encloses a circular area measuring circa 17.5m in diameter. Total diameter is circa 19m. The size and shape of the enclosure suggests that it is the plough levelled remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. There is no sign of any barrow mound or other internal feature such as a funerary deposit. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M project.
