Summary
The site of an undated chalk pit is visible as a low earthwork hollow on lidar imagery to the west of Badbury Rings, Shapwick. It lies immediately adjacent to the Roman road from Badbury Rings to Dorchester. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description
The site of an undated chalk pit is visible as a low earthwork hollow on lidar imagery to the west of Badbury Rings, Shapwick (1). It lies immediately adjacent to the Roman road from Badbury Rings to Dorchester and may be associated with it's construction or be of later (post medieval?) date. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
