Summary

A silver strap-end reported to have been found somewhere near the Roman villa at Halstock around the middle of the nineteenth century. The exact findspot is not known.

Full Description

An Anglo-Saxon strap-end was discovered near the Roman villa in the mid-C19th. Made of silver, the centre of the front is sculpted with 'Runic' knots and a winged quadruped. <1> (ST 5408. Strap end sited to Halstock parish from Auth. 1 and OS 10000 1982). <2>
